They shoot for the heart; trumping up charges to arrest Marla for obstruction of justice and seeking to remove Anita from the home. The thought of his girls apart and suffering drives him to turn himself into authorities on the condition that they release Marla and Anita. His attorney fights for him in a court of law while Sammy is behind bars and fighting just to stay alive to stand trial, only to find the state seeking the death penalty against him.
